Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gapur Oziev (1974)

Academic Field: Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh wa Usul Fiqh), Islamic Banking and Finance

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gapur completed bachelor's (2002) and master's (2004) degrees from the International Islamic University of Malaysia, and in 2008 obtained his PhD. His main specialty is Islamic jurisprudence its foundations (al-fiqh wa usul al-fiqh). His minor specialty is in Political Science. Since 2008 to the present, he has been lecturing at the Department of Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences, at the International Islamic University Malaysia. Sphere of pedagogical interests: Islamic commercial law, Islamic banking and finance. He was twice awarded with the award of “the best teacher of the year”. Dr. Gapur is the author of books and scientific articles in journals indexed by ISI and Scopus. Major publications "The Contractual Framework for Islamic Banking" (book in Russian), "Islamic leadership today" (book in English), "A New Approach in Education for Islamic Finance Awareness in Russia" (article), "Cryptocurrency from Shariah perspective" (article). Dr. Gapur was repeatedly involved as a consultant in the implementation of projects with the participation of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB). He is a member of the Sharia Expert Council at the “Sharia Review Bureau” in Bahrain, as well as at the “National Rating Agency of Russia” (NRA). In addition to Russian and native Ingush, he is fluent in English and Arabic.
